There was a tremendous outpouring of support to help us preserve the former Camp Grow property and we are pleased to announce that because of the generous support of over 600 donors, and a $1.7 million dollar WDNR Knowles-Nelson Stewardship grant, the Green Lake Conservancy became the new owners on July 10!

If you have generously pledged your
support but have not satisfied that pledge yet, please fulfill your pledge as
soon as possible. If you have not yet
pledged but would like to help us meet our targeted goal which includes
restoration costs, please donate now.
Now that the final purchase is complete, the first phase of the property
restoration will begin. The buildings
will be removed or demolished to restore the entire 40 acres back to the
natural area—resembling what it would have looked like before it was developed.
All current recreational trails on the property will be maintained for hikers and other allowable use under the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship grant program.
We will continue to share updated information on this historic purchase as
restoration efforts continue over the next few years. We would like to thank all of our generous
supporters for making this momentous undertaking a reality.
At a celebration honoring the 600+ people and organizations who made this acquisition of Camp Grow a reality, leaders from the Green Lake Conservancy and Green Lake Sanitary District discuss this project and its future. Check out the video... (video courtesy of Rich Christian)
